Job summary

Amazon Inc. is seeking a Senior System Development Engineer in Core Networking to own software services that keep the AWS network in the region operational, resilient, and scalable.

You will drive engineering and automation while guiding fellow engineers through architectural decisions and best practices. You will collaborate with global teams across languages and platforms, shaping the program's future and ensuring reliable deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years deploying and operating Linux/Unix systems.
• 5+ years of systems development in IT or data centers.
• 3+ years in systems design, automation, and process improvement.
• 3+ years programming in modern languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell or Ruby.
• Experience leading design, automation, deployment and support of large-scale infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own software services and platforms keeping the AWS network running in the region.
• Lead engineering to make systems more resilient, automated and scalable.
• Design and implement automation to reduce operational toil at scale.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with global service teams for deployments.
