Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Systems Development Engineer to build and operate tools that keep the world’s largest cloud network running. You’ll collaborate with network engineers to deploy automated solutions, monitor health, and improve reliability in a fast-paced, Agile environment.

You will develop production-quality software in languages such as Python, Java, or Go, participate in on-call rotations, and help scale systems to meet growing traffic across regions.

Qualifications

• Australian citizenship is required and must be eligible for an Australian Government Security Clearance.
• Experience automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure.
• Experience with Linux/Unix.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language (Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust).

Responsibilities

• Develop and grow production-quality tools for network operations and automation.
• Refine system requirements; contribute to operability features such as health monitoring, diagnostics, repair and self-healing automation.
• Adapt and improve operations management systems to accommodate rapid growth in systems and traffic.
• Design and execute production acceptance tests and hardware evaluations.
• Monitor fleet health and automate maintenance tasks and reporting.
• Participate in on-call rotations to resolve incidents outside business hours.
