Job summary

Qantas is seeking a Senior Claims Officer to manage a portfolio of complex NSW workers’ compensation claims, supporting recovery and return to work from our Mascot Head Office. You will lead end-to-end claims management, review liability decisions, and develop injury management strategies.

The role requires strong stakeholder management, excellent communication, and deep knowledge of NSW legislation. This is a 12-month fixed-term role with opportunities to contribute to a national support

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing complex Workers’ Compensation claims.
• Strong knowledge of the NSW Workers’ Compensation legislative framework and Standards of Practice.
• Proven ability to make sound liability decisions and manage complex claims outcomes.
• Experience developing and implementing effective injury management and return-to-work strategies.
• Strong understanding of PIAWE calculations and weekly benefits administration.
• Ability to identify barriers to recovery and implement person-centred claims management solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes.
• Attention to detail, analytical capability and commitment to confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end management of a portfolio of complex NSW workers’ compensation claims.
• Review and assess claims in accordance with NSW legislation and standards of practice.
• Develop and implement injury management and return-to-work strategies.
• Educate and assist employees and managers on workers’ compensation processes.
