Job summary

Australian Unity is seeking a Claims Management Consultant to lead a portfolio of complex workers’ compensation claims under NSW legislation and SIRA guidelines. You will drive timely, accurate, and cost-effective management while supporting injured employees and coaching internal stakeholders.

This role focuses on delivering safe, sustainable return-to-work outcomes, strong collaboration with people leaders and medical professionals, and continuous improvement in claims governance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in end-to-end workers’ compensation claims management (self-insurance experience desirable).
• Strong knowledge of NSW Workers Compensation legislation, frameworks, timeframes, and SIRA requirements.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of physical and psychological injury claims in line with NSW legislation, SIRA guidelines and self-insurance requirements.
• Conduct liability assessments and process weekly benefit payments within required timeframes.
• Develop, implement and monitor tailored injury management plans to support return-to-work outcomes.
• Provide expert guidance on legal WPI assessments, Common Law WID processes and XOL reviews.
• Build trusted relationships with injured employees, leaders, medical professionals and internal teams.
