Job summary

Stantec Australia is seeking a Civil Project Technical Lead/Team Lead to lead major buildings projects across Sydney. You will drive delivery from concept through construction, mentor engineers and drafters, and actively engage with clients to grow the business.

You’ll oversee project financials, lead risk management, and uphold quality standards while fostering collaboration across offices. A strong leadership track record and civil design experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent in the consulting/engineering field.
• CPEng/NER accreditation highly desirable.
• Registered Design Practitioner or on pathway to achieve, highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Leading project delivery from concept design through to construction, ensuring technical excellence.
• Playing a key role in business development and client engagement, including maintaining and expanding existing relationships.
• Identifying new opportunities and contributing to strategic planning and growth initiatives.
• Overseeing project financials including fee proposals, resourcing, budgeting, and profitability.
• Managing and mentoring engineers, modellers and drafters within the team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Peer review of design work and documentation to ensure quality and compliance.
• Representing the business in client meetings, presentations, and industry forums.
• Contributing to the continual improvement of systems, processes, and design standards.
• Ensure adherence to professional standards, ethics and quality procedures and standards and make project teams are aware of commercial and technical risk and what they should do to minimise it.
