Job summary

Southern NSW Local Health District Westmead Hospital is seeking a Clinical Operations and Support Team Manager to lead a 24-person administration team, shaping a high-performing service within a busy cancer program.

You will drive day-to-day admin operations, recruit and develop staff, manage reception, bookings, records, billing and secretarial support, and partner with clinicians and Cancer Services to deliver patient-centred care with continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading administration teams in large public hospitals or equivalent.
• Experience managing recruitment, onboarding and performance development.
• Strong knowledge of Medicare Billing rules and leading teams to compliance.
• Proven ability to deliver a quality customer service experience.
• Experience with process improvement initiatives and project management.
• Excellent organisational and time management capabilities.
• Experience with electronic rostering and pay systems.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and corporate applications such as Oracle Financials, HPRM/HPE.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the administration team, including recruitment, onboarding, performance and professional development.
• Oversee key administrative functions such as reception, patient bookings, medical records, billing and secretarial support.
• Review and improve processes to create more efficient, patient-focused workflows.
• Manage rostering, invoices and procurement across relevant systems.
• Support contemporary models of care, including video consultations, in collaboration with the Operations Manager.
