Job summary

Banyule City Council in Melbourne is seeking a seasoned Building Maintenance Coordinator to lead a diverse portfolio of buildings and facilities. This senior role focuses on safety, compliance, risk management and delivering high-quality service to the community.

You will drive planned, preventive and reactive maintenance, manage budgets and contractors, and influence a customer-focused, sustainable and safe built environment. Hybrid working and great wellbeing support are offered.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a technical or operational team.
• Experience coordinating maintenance across a complex portfolio of facilities.
• Strong knowledge of safety, compliance, risk management and budget control.
• Ability to analyse issues and develop practical, value-for-money solutions.
• Clear written, verbal and interpersonal communication and reporting.
• Experience managing contractors, procurement and service contracts.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for planned, preventive and reactive maintenance.
• Oversee safety, compliance, contractor performance, budgets and resources.
• Manage building-related risks and drive continuous improvement.
• Procure and manage contractors, consultants and service providers.
• Use asset information to improve planning, reporting and prioritisation.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams, users and partners.
