Job summary

SLR Automotive Moranbah invites an experienced Motor Mechanic to step into a senior workshop management role in Moranbah, QLD. You will mentor technicians on the shop floor while handling customer communications, quotes, parts, suppliers, fleet requirements and workshop administration.

This unique role blends hands-on knowledge with day-to-day leadership, offering genuine autonomy and the opportunity to shape how the workshop operates.

Qualifications

• Extensive automotive workshop experience.
• Strong mechanical knowledge.
• Relevant Motor Mechanic or Diesel Motor Mechanic trade qualification highly regarded.
• Organised and confident communicating with customers and technicians.
• Computer literate.
• Able to prioritise changing workshop demands.
• Capable of taking genuine ownership of the position.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate workshop workflow and job allocation.
• Support technicians with technical knowledge and repair planning.
• Review inspection findings.
• Prepare quotes and repair recommendations.
• Communicate with customers.
• Source and order parts.
• Liaise with suppliers.
• Manage fleet customers and purchase orders.
• Oversee job cards and invoicing.
• Monitor jobs and workshop productivity.
