Job summary

SLR Automotive Moranbah invites an experienced Motor Mechanic to step into a senior workshop management role in Moranbah, QLD. You will mentor technicians on the shop floor while handling customer communications, quotes, parts, suppliers, fleet requirements and workshop administration.

This unique role blends hands-on knowledge with day-to-day leadership, offering genuine autonomy and the opportunity to shape how the workshop operates.

Qualifications

• Extensive automotive workshop experience.
• Strong mechanical knowledge.
• Relevant Motor Mechanic or Diesel Motor Mechanic trade qualification highly regarded.
• Organised and confident communicating with customers and technicians.
• Computer literate.
• Able to prioritise changing workshop demands.
• Capable of taking genuine ownership of the position.

About the role

This is a unique senior position combining workshop leadership and technical knowledge with the day-to-day management, customer service and administration of a busy mechanical workshop. The role suits an experienced Motor Mechanic or Diesel Motor Mechanic who is ready to transition away from being permanently on the tools and into a senior workshop management position. You will support technicians on the workshop floor, while also confidently managing customers, quoting, parts, suppliers, fleet requirements and general workshop administration.
