Job summary

VACCA is seeking a dedicated practitioner to engage Aboriginal families with children and young people aged 0-18 to support safe and healthy family functioning and prevent child removal. The role also supports reunification for children recently placed in out-of-home care.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience as a Practitioner in child/family services.
• Understanding of attachment, trauma, family functioning and relevant risk assessment frameworks.
• Ability to work in a culturally respectful and competent manner with Aboriginal families.

Responsibilities

• Engage Aboriginal families with children and young people 0–18 to support safe and healthy family functioning.
• Prevent removal of children and support reunification for children in out-of-home care.
• Collaborate with external services including Child Protection to optimise family support.
