Job summary

The EQ Hotel is opening Perth's premier luxury hotel and seeks professional Security Officers to join the team ahead of launch. You will patrol, monitor security systems, and respond to incidents, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for guests and staff.

Key duties include managing access, incident reporting and collaboration with Front Office and Engineering. Current WA Security Officer Licence is essential; First Aid is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Security Officer in hotels or similar venues.
• Current WA Security Officer Licence is essential.
• First Aid Certificate is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with guests, team members and stakeholders.
• Conduct regular patrols of hotel areas including car parks and back-of-house.
• Monitor CCTV, alarms and access-control systems.
• Assist with crowd management during events and functions.
• Support traffic flow, parking and valet areas as required.
• Check security and fire-safety equipment and report faults.
• Manage access for guests, visitors and contractors.
• Maintain patrol logs, incident reports and handover notes.
• Respond promptly to incidents and liaise with emergency services when needed.
• Assist with investigation, evidence gathering and reporting.
• Safeguard property, identify risks and escalate to Security Manager.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Engineering and operations for safety.

Security Officer, Pre-Opening Luxury Hotel

The EQ Hotel – Perth, WA

The EQ Hotel is seeking professional and experienced Security Officers to join our team ahead of the opening of Perth's newest luxury hotel.

About the Role

As a Security Officer, you will help create a safe, secure and welcoming environment for guests, visitors and colleagues across the hotel and associated facilities.

You will conduct regular patrols, monitor security systems, respond to incidents and emergencies, and support the hotel team with professionalism and discretion. This role is highly visible and guest-focused, requiring sound judgement, excellent communication skills and a calm approach under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive working relationships with guests, team members, contractors and external stakeholders.
• Conduct regular patrols of hotel public areas, back-of-house areas, car parks and surrounding premises.
• Monitor CCTV, alarms, access-control systems and other security systems.
• Assist with crowd management during group arrivals and departures, events, functions, bars and restaurants.
• Support traffic flow, vehicle access, parking and valet areas as required.
• Check security alarms, emergency equipment and fire-safety equipment, and report any faults promptly.
• Manage access for guests, visitors and contractors in line with hotel procedures.
• Maintain accurate patrol logs, incident reports, handover notes and security records.
• Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, emergencies and guest concerns; liaise with emergency services where required.
• Assist with incident investigation, evidence gathering and report writing.
• Safeguard hotel property and assets, identify security risks and elevate concerns to the Security Manager.
• Work closely with Front Office, Engineering and operational teams to ensure a safe, secure and welcoming environment.
• Work a rotating 24/7 roster, including AM, PM, overnight, weekend and public-holiday shifts.

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience as a Security Officer in a hotel, hospitality venue, high-end residential building or similar environment.
• Current WA Security Officer Licence is essential.
• Current First Aid Certificate is highly regarded.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to remain calm, alert and professional in challenging situations.
• Sound judgement, attention to detail and ability to manage incidents discreetly.
• A current driver’s licence is highly regarded
