Job summary

Certis Security Australia is seeking Gatehouse Security Officers for a full-time role in Sydney. You will manage gatehouse operations, control access, monitor security systems, and provide exceptional customer service to visitors, contractors and staff.

Based in Sydney, NSW, with a 4 on/4 off shift pattern including day and night shifts. The role requires an NSW Security Licence, First Aid/CPR and strong reporting skills to maintain security and safety on site.

Qualifications

• NSW Security Licence is required.
• First Aid and CPR certificates are required.
• Experience in gatehouse, logistics, transport, warehousing or industrial security preferred.
• Strong access-control and vehicle-movement management experience.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage gatehouse operations and access control.

Job Impact

We are seeking professional and customer-focused Gatehouse Security Officers to join our team in Sydney.

Working within a busy industrial and logistics environment, you will be responsible for managing gatehouse operations, controlling site access, monitoring security systems, and supporting the safety and security of personnel, assets, and facilities.

As the first point of contact for visitors, contractors and employees, you will play a critical role in maintaining secure site operations while delivering outstanding customer service and professionalism.

About The Role

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing gatehouse operations and ensuring all access and security procedures are followed in accordance with site requirements.

Location: Sydney, NSW

Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent

Roster: Rotating 4 Days On / 4 Days Off

Shift Pattern: Combination of Day and Night Shifts

Roster Schedule: 4 on 4 off

Pay Rate: SSIA Level 2

Flexibility to work across all rostered shifts is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

• Managing vehicle movements and access control for vehicles, visitors, contractors, and employees.
• Data entry and maintenance of vehicle movement records and access logs.
• Screening visitors, contractors, and deliveries entering and exiting the site.
• Monitoring CCTV, alarms, and security systems.
• Managing emails, administration, and required reporting tasks.
• Completing digital occurrence reports, incident reports, and daily activity logs.
• Conducting site inductions and enforcing site rules and PPE requirements.
• Ensuring only authorised persons and vehicles enter the facility.
• Monitoring site buildings, gates, and perimeter areas to maintain site security integrity.
• Identifying and reporting security risks, hazards, incidents, and breaches.
• Responding to security, safety, and WHS incidents and escalating where required.
• Maintaining effective communication with site personnel, contractors, visitors, and management.
• Supporting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with site procedures.

About You

You will bring:

• Current NSW Security Licence.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
• Previous experience in a gatehouse, logistics, transport, warehousing, or industrial security environment.
• Strong experience in access control and managing vehicle movements.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
• High level of data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise competing tasks.
• Strong report-writing and administrative skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work rotating day and night shifts.
