Job summary

SF International is seeking a Sea Freight Operations Coordinator-Mandarin Speaking to manage end-to-end import/export shipping, bookings and documentation from our Sydney operations. You will ensure timely delivery, monitor milestones and coordinate with shipping lines, terminals and freight forwarders to optimise costs.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in sea freight, strong Excel skills, and proven ability to manage multiple containers.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in sea freight operations or related roles.
• Knowledge of end-to-end sea freight processes including customs clearance.
• Experience managing multiple containers or shipments simultaneously.
• Understanding of Australian sea freight operations and local requirements.
• Strong knowledge of sea freight charges and cost discrepancy resolution.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end sea freight operations including bookings, vessel tracking, and documentation.
• Manage around 60 containers per month with milestone monitoring.
• Liaise with lines, terminals, forwarders, brokers, transport providers and warehouse teams.
• Review and reconcile freight charges, terminal and customs fees.
• Investigate billing discrepancies and support monthly cost reporting.
• Identify and manage risks such as port congestion and delays.
• Resolve operational issues and ensure timely follow-up to completion.
• Maintain shipment records, tracking registers and exception logs.
• Develop and maintain SOPs to improve efficiency and consistency.

Position Summary

Responsible for the full-link operation and guarantee of import and export shipping business, covering customs clearance, cargo pickup, container haulage, terminal docking, fee settlement, exception handling and account maintenance. Undertake daily operation of 60 containers per month steadily, ensure stable shipping delivery, controllable operation nodes and compliant costs, and support the scaled development and standardized construction of shipping business.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end sea freight operations, including bookings, vessel arrival tracking, customs documentation, cargo release, container collection, delivery and empty container return.
• Manage approximately 60 containers per month while monitoring shipment milestones and deadlines.
• Liaise with shipping lines, terminals, freight forwarders, customs brokers, transport providers and warehouse teams.
• Review and reconcile freight charges, terminal fees, customs clearance fees, transport costs, detention and other shipment-related expenses.
• Investigate billing discrepancies and support monthly reconciliation and cost reporting.
• Proactively identify and manage risks such as port congestion, customs inspections, delayed arrivals, transport disruptions and container detention.
• Resolve operational issues and ensure timely follow-up through to completion.
• Maintain accurate shipment records, container tracking registers, operational reports and exception logs.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures to improve operational efficiency and consistency.

About You

• 1–3 years of experience in sea freight operations, freight forwarding, import/export logistics or a related role.
• Sound knowledge of end-to-end sea freight processes, including customs clearance coordination, terminal operations, container transport and empty container returns.
• Experience managing multiple containers or shipments simultaneously.
• Understanding of Australian sea freight operations and local logistics requirements is highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of sea freight charges and experience reviewing supplier invoices and resolving cost discrepancies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including shipment tracking, reconciliation and operational reporting.
• Strong attention to detail, organisation and time-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Proactive, accountable and capable of independently resolving operational issues.
