Job summary

SDN Children’s Services in Waterloo NSW is seeking an Educator to join a supportive team delivering inclusive programs with 5-hour days across five days.

You will build relationships with children and families, support emotional wellbeing, and respond to individual needs in a centre located minutes from the Metro and Redfern.

The role includes observing, documenting learning, and contributing to daily routines including meals and hygiene, with above award pay and WRP.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care is required.
• Understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
• Understanding of the National Quality Standards (NQS).
• Working with Children Check and current Senior First Aid qualification.
• Knowledge of child health, hygiene and nutrition.

Responsibilities

• Build nurturing, positive relationships with children and support their emotional wellbeing.
• Guide positive behaviour and encourage children’s independence and decision-making.
• Create engaging, inclusive environments that support all areas of development.
• Support daily routines, including meals, toileting, and responding to individual needs.

About The Role

As an educator, you’ll work within a supportive and collaborative team to deliver a high-quality, inclusive program, build meaningful relationships with children and families, embrace diverse needs, and enjoy a conveniently located centre just minutes from the Metro and Redfern railway station.

This will include:

• Build nurturing, positive relationships with children and support their emotional wellbeing
• Guide positive behaviour and encourage children’s independence and decision-making
• Create engaging, inclusive environments that support all areas of development
• Support daily routines, including meals, toileting, and responding to individual needs
• Assist with observing, documenting, and supporting children’s learning and healthy habits

About You:

You will have experience and skills in the following:

• A Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
• Demonstrated understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework
• Demonstrated understanding of the National Quality Standards
• Working with Children Checkand current Senior First Aid qualification
• Sound understanding of the development of children, their health,hygiene and nutritional needs
• Child protection training and commitment to child safety
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration
