Job summary

Accor is hiring a Kitchen Assistant for our Australia-wide operations, including Qantas Lounges. You will help keep our kitchens clean, orderly, and service-ready, while supporting the team during busy periods and handling basic food prep as needed.

The role requires prior kitchen experience, understanding of food safety, and flexibility to cover mornings, afternoons, and weekend shifts. Full working rights within Australia are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Preferred experience within the hospitality or hotel industry.
• Understanding of food safety requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• MUST have flexibility to work various rostered shifts, including mornings, afternoons and weekends.
• MUST have full working rights within Australia.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, glassware, pots, pans and equipment using industrial dishwashing machines.
• Clean and maintain dishwashing equipment and report issues.
• Keep kitchen, preparation and scullery areas clean and hygienic.
• Ensure correct handling of chemicals and equipment.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks when required.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
• Work across a rotating roster, including mornings, afternoons and weekends.

What You’ll Be Doing

• You’ll play a vital role in keeping our kitchens clean, organised, and service‑ready:
• Washing dishes, glassware, pots, pans and kitchen equipment using industrial dishwashing machines.
• Cleaning and maintaining dishwashing equipment and reporting any issues.
• Keeping kitchen, preparation and scullery areas clean and hygienic.
