Job summary

Accor is seeking a Full-Time Food & Beverage Restaurant Manager for its Canberra Domestic Lounges. You will lead daily lounge operations, oversee front-of-house service, manage F&B offerings with the culinary team, and ensure high standards.

This is a hands-on leadership role within Qantas Lounges, requiring RSA and aviation security clearance readiness. You will drive staff engagement, coordinate events, and maintain safety and hygiene standards while delivering a welcoming, premium guest

Qualifications

  • To be successful in this role, you will have a genuine passion for hospitality and demonstrated experience leading a team within a fast-paced food & beverage environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead front of house operations to ensure lounge runs smoothly and service standards are maintained
  • Coordinate VIP service requirements and operational delivery during busy Chairman's Lounge periods
  • Manage purchasing and pricing of beverages and operational supplies within approved budgets
  • Monitor stock levels and maintain accurate records relating to stock, wastage and financial transactions
  • Ensure dining, bar, buffet and service areas comply with food safety and health safety requirements
  • Support selection, induction, training and development of new and current food & beverage team members
  • Allocate duties and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members
  • Greet guests and assist with food & beverage orders when required
  • Communicate clearly with operational stakeholders across lounges
  • Respond to incidents and security matters in line with procedures
  • Foster an inclusive, positive workplace culture and lead by example

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Full-Time Food & Beverage Restaurant Manager to join our welcoming team providing the highest quality service for our guests at our Canberra Domestic Lounges.

This role is based within our Qantas Lounges at Canberra Airport, our Food & Beverage Restaurant Manager will bring genuine passion for hospitality and service to create a welcoming and memorable pre-flight experience for every guest.

This hands on leadership role is responsible for supporting and overseeing daily lounge operations, managing food & beverage services and leading our front of house team to consistently deliver high standards.

Key duties of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead by example in delivering efficient, friendly and professional food & beverage service
  • Manage daily front of house operations to ensure the lounge runs smoothly and service standards are consistently maintained
  • Support menu planning and service offerings in consultation with the culinary team
  • Plan and coordinate staff events, functions and lounge activations
  • Coordinate VIP service requirements and operational delivery during busy Chairman's Lounge periods
  • Manage the purchasing and pricing of beverages and operational supplies in accordance with approved budgets
  • Monitor stock levels and maintain accurate records relating to stock, wastage and relevant financial transaction
  • Ensure dining, bar, buffet and service areas comply with food safety, workplace health safety and hygiene requirements and remain clean, functional and professionally presented
  • Engage with guest, respond to feedback and effectively resolve concerns relating to meals, beverages and service
  • Support the selection, induction, training and development of new and current food & beverage team members
  • Allocate duties, coordinate workflow and provide ongoing coaching and feedback of food & beverage team members
  • Greet guest and assist with food & beverage orders when operationally required
  • Act as a key point of contact for operational stakeholders, ensuring clear and professional communication across the lounges
  • Respond to operational incidents, emergencies and security matters in accordance with airport, Qantas and Accor procedures
  • Foster an inclusive, positive and engaged workplace culture by being a role model for all food & beverage team members
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have a genuine passion for hospitality and demonstrated experience leading a team within a fast-paced food & beverage environment.

You Will Also Have
  • A relevant qualification in hospitality management, such as a Diploma or higher qualification
  • A minimum three years relevant full-time experience in hospitality management within a restaurant, cafe, hotel, airport lounge or similar food & beverage operations
  • Demonstrated experience managing team members and coordinating daily food & beverage operations
  • Experience with stock control, purchasing, operational budgets and record keeping
  • Knowledge of food safety, workplace health and safety and responsible service of alcohol
  • Strong communication, organisation, leaderships and problem solving skills
  • The ability to work Full-Time across a seven day rotating roster, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays
  • A current responsible service of alcohol (RSA), or the ability to obtain one
  • The ability to successfully obtain and maintain Aviation Security Identification Card, including completion of required security background checks
