Job summary

Accor's Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour is seeking a Kitchen Attendant to keep the kitchen sparkling and compliant with hygiene standards. You will support the team with cleaning, dishwashing and general duties to ensure smooth dining experiences for guests.

Ideal candidates bring a practical sense of cleanliness, a positive attitude, and the ability to work across shifts in a fast-paced harbour-side setting.

Qualifications

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen areas and equipment.
• Support kitchen team with basic prep and dish handling when required.
• Demonstrate a can-do attitude and willingness to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean crockery, cutlery, glassware and kitchen equipment using dishwashers and manual cleaning.
• Carry out rubbish removal, sweeping and mopping of kitchen floors.
• Disinfect surfaces and manage correct chemical usage sequence.
• Assist with basic food prep, garnishes and seasoning tasks as needed.

Purpose

As a Kitchen Attendant, your role is pivotal in maintaining the sparkle of our kitchen. Your main responsibilities involve upholding cleanliness, including dishware, utensils, and workspaces, all while strictly adhering to hygiene standards. You are an integral part of the kitchen brigade, collaborating seamlessly to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our valued guests.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain impeccable hygiene while cleaning crockery, cutlery, glassware, and other kitchen equipment, using both commercial dishwashers and manual cleaning methods
• Carry out rubbish removal, sweeping and mopping of kitchen floors
• Disinfect and clean, ensuring the proper sequence of chemical usage
• Provide valuable support to our kitchen team, including various tasks such as basic food preparation, grating, peeling, chopping, and preparing batters, garnishes, and seasonings.

Skills & Experience

• Having practical experience in kitchen operations or cleaning is a plus
• Have an enthusiastic "can-do" attitude and a positive and motivated demeanour
• You thrive working within a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible availability to accommodate various shifts, including mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
