Job summary

Trinity Catholic College Goulburn seeks a part-time Science Laboratory Assistant to support science teachers and ensure student access to the NSW curriculum and activities. The role provides specialist technical advice, direction, and assistance within the Science faculty.

The position involves maintaining laboratory equipment, supporting safe, engaging practical learning experiences for Year 7–12, and contributes to a reputation for excellence in education.

Qualifications

• NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required.
• Certificate III in School-Based Education Support or Laboratory Techniques is required, or current enrolment in an ITE program; or experience as a Classroom and Learning Support Assistant.
• Accreditation in accordance with the Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead policy is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist science teachers to enable all students to access and participate in the curriculum.
• Provide specialist technical advice, direction and assistance in the Science faculty.
• Support maintenance of laboratory equipment and safe, engaging practical learning experiences.

About The Role

The Science Laboratory Assistant is a member of the Science faculty team that plays a key role in supporting science classroom teachers to ensure that all students can access and participate in the curriculum and activities to achieve the academic goals required for independent learning and confident participation. They have the capacity to provide specialist technical advice, direction, and assistance.
