Job summary

The University of Western Australia is seeking a proactive administrator to support the Conservatorium of Music and College Operations. This 1.0 FTE ongoing position involves coordinating student and HDR administration, scholarships and prizes, and general office operations in a vibrant music campus environment.

Key duties include candidate communications, audition scheduling, timetabling, and cross-team collaboration to ensure high-quality services for students, staff and performers.

Qualifications

  • Base salary range: $86,540 – $95,920 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

College Services provides academic administration and operational support to the University’s schools, helping deliver exceptional outcomes for students, researchers and academic staff. Within this environment, the UWA Conservatorium of Music is a dynamic and diverse hub for teaching, performance, research and community engagement across classical music, contemporary popular music, electronic music and sound design, and music theatre.

The Conservatorium delivers an extensive program of concerts, productions, outreach initiatives and teaching activities, working closely with students, staff, visiting artists, industry partners and the broader community.

About the opportunity
  • Coordinate a broad range of school operations activities, including student and HDR administration, scholarships and prizes, committee support, website updates, timetabling, room scheduling and day-to-day office operations.
  • Support prospective student engagement and the audition process through candidate communications, audition scheduling and liaison with key university stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across College Operations and University teams to deliver high-quality administrative services, provide stakeholder support, drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the success of Conservatorium teaching, research and engagement activities.
About you
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or an equivalent combination of education, training and substantial administrative experience.
  • Demonstrated experience providing high-quality administrative support in a complex organisation, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and provide outstanding customer service to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving and coordination skills, with the ability to work independently, exercise initiative and contribute as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and administrative systems, including experience working with databases, spreadsheets, email and online platforms.

A current WA Working with Children Check will be required by the successful applicant.

Some after-hours work is required to support concert, performance and outreach activities.
