Job summary

Trippas White Group is seeking a motivated Casual Chef to join our school catering team, delivering fresh, quality meals for students and staff in a structured kitchen.

You will assist with daily preparation, cooking and service, while upholding high standards of food safety, hygiene and presentation. Experience in a commercial kitchen and a culinary qualification are preferred.

This role offers a friendly, team-focused environment with regular daytime hours centered around school schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Currently studying or holding a culinary qualification.
• Interest in preparing quality food.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• Ability to follow recipes and menus.
• Organised, reliable and team player.

• Able to work around children in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and cooking of daily meals and menu items
• Support kitchen team with daily operations
• Prepare food in accordance with recipes, menus and dietary requirements
• Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
• Follow food safety, hygiene and allergen management procedures
• Assist with stock control, storage and rotation of ingredients
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen
• Work efficiently during busy service periods
• Support the team with catering for school events and functions when required
