Job summary

CareWays Community Ltd is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to join the Community Care Team in Dapto, NSW. This permanent, full-time role is onsite Monday to Friday, reporting to the Aged Care Senior Manager.

You will roster care workers to deliver services under the CHSP and related programs, while ensuring compliance and efficiency. The ideal candidate has a Diploma level qualification and 3+ years in rostering, with strong organisational and communication skills and experience in disability or

Qualifications

  • Diploma level qualification and 3 years’ experience in a high-volume rostering position.
  • Experience scheduling shifts for large teams and clients with rostering processes and low error rates.
  • Solid understanding of the SCHADS Award.
  • Excellent data entry and computer skills with Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in diverse environments.
  • Strong problem solving, organisation and prioritisation abilities.
  • Experience with rostering systems such as Visual Care is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain all care worker rosters daily and ensure rosters are prepared two weeks in advance.
  • Develop and manage care service schedules considering client needs and worker skills/geography.
  • Monitor hours against contracts, max hour limits and awards.
  • Arrange replacement workers for sick/leave and unplanned absences.
  • Ensure compliance, cost efficiency and client/worker satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records per policies and procedures.
  • Process care worker timesheets.
  • Maintain master roster as required.
  • Regularly report scheduling capacity and recruitment recommendations to management.

Job description

CareWays Community has been providing services to the community since 1978. We have a reputation for providing highly valued community support through our in-home aged care and four Neighbourhood Centres.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experiencedScheduling Coordinator to join our Community Care Team, based in Dapto NSW. This challenging role works closely with Management and Care Partners to provide effective and efficient rostering of Care Workers to deliver care and support to Support at Home and Commonwealth Home Support Program service users.

About the role

This position reports to the Aged Care Senior Manager and is a permanent full-time position working onsite in our Dapto Office, Monday to Friday.

The key responsibilities for this role entails:

  • Managing and maintaining all care worker rosters on a daily basis and ensuring rosters are completed two weeks in advance.
  • Developing and managing care service schedules, considering each client’s individual needs and matching with care workers’ skills and geographical locations.
  • Monitoring care worker hours against individual care worker contracts, maximum hour limits and award requirements.
  • Arranging replacement care workers to cover sick and annual leave and planned or unplanned absences and shift changes.
  • Ensuring compliance, cost optimisation as well as a focus on client and care workers’ satisfaction.
  • To maintain accurate and comprehensive records, in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Managing the processing of Care Worker timesheets.
  • Manage and maintain the master roster as required
  • Regularly reporting to management on scheduling capacity and recruitment recommendations

About you

To be considered you must have:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications at Diploma level and 3 years’ experience working in a high-volume rostering position.

- Demonstrated experience in scheduling shifts for high volumes of workers and client’s services and a knowledge and understanding of rostering and scheduling processes with low error rates.

- Demonstrated a sound understanding of the SCHADS Award.

- Excellent data entry and computer skills with sound knowledge of Microsoft applications.

- Excellent inter personal and communication skills (both written & verbal) in various environments with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people.

- Problem solving skills with the ability to think creatively.

- Demonstrated ability to organise and priorities tasks, work effectively with minimal supervision and under pressure, problem solve and meet deadlines and use resources effectively and efficiently.

- Experience with Visual Care (desirable)

Remuneration

Position is subject to award conditions under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 as Social & Community Employee Level 4.
