XPT Software is seeking an experienced Senior SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) Technical Consultant to support New Zealand payroll operations and broader geographies as required. The role focuses on payroll stability, compliance, production operations, and SAP SuccessFactors health in a complex enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate will be an ECP specialist with deep NZ payroll knowledge, hands-on configuration, data integrity and production support.

Qualifications

• Experience with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) configuration and support.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand payroll operations and compliance.
• Experience supporting complex payroll ecosystems with data integrity and regulatory controls.
• Experience with ECP transports, production change support and data integrity management.
• Proficient ABAP debugging and issue resolution for payroll/integration.

Responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert for SAP SuccessFactors ECP with NZ payroll focus.
• Maintain and support production and standby SAP HCM environments, ensuring stability.
• Support payroll processing activities, data integrity, transports, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with global teams while keeping NZ payroll requirements locally accountable.
• Provide on-call or out-of-hours support during critical payroll periods.

SAP SuccessFactors ECP Technical Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) Technical Consultant to support New Zealand payroll operations, while also being capable of supporting other geographies as required. This is a critical hands-on role supporting payroll stability, compliance, production operations, and SAP SuccessFactors platform health across a complex enterprise environment.

Ideal candidate profile

The ideal candidate will be a strong SAP SuccessFactors ECP specialist with deep New Zealand payroll knowledge, practical production support experience, and the ability to work confidently across payroll, technology, vendors, and global support teams. They must be comfortable operating in a regulated environment where payroll accuracy, system availability, data integrity, and compliance obligations are critical.

Purpose of the role

The primary purpose of this role is to support the Payroll Team and SAP SuccessFactors, with a specific focus on New Zealand payroll and the ability to provide support across other geographies where required.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP), with a strong focus on New Zealand payroll.
• Maintain and support SAP SuccessFactors production and standby environments, ensuring systems remain stable, accurate, secure, and available.
• Support payroll processing activities, including issue resolution, configuration changes, data integrity, transports, and production support.
• Work as part of a global team supporting payroll operations across multiple geographies, while maintaining strong local accountability for New Zealand payroll requirements.
• Provide on-call or out-of-hours support during critical payroll finalisation and payroll run periods when required.

Mandatory knowledge, skills and experience

• Strong technical proficiency in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP), including hands-on configuration, support, troubleshooting, and operational management.
• Deep understanding of New Zealand payroll operations, payroll compliance requirements, and payroll processing practices.
• Experience supporting complex payroll environments where accuracy, timeliness, security, and regulatory compliance are critical.
• Experience with payroll configuration, system configuration, data integrity management, ECP transports, and production change support.
• Strong ABAP skills, including the ability to investigate, debug, and resolve payroll or integration-related issues.
• Solid understanding of ITIL, DevOps, SAFe or Agile ways of working, including incident, problem, change, release, and operational support disciplines.
• Effective communication, collaboration, time management, adaptability, and attention to detail.

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience

• Experience across broader SAP SuccessFactors modules beyond Employee Central Payroll.
• Experience with solution implementation, upgrades, releases, testing, and adherence to industry best practice.
• Understanding of enterprise technology standards, operating frameworks, controls, and governance expectations.
• Understanding of HR business processes and how payroll integrates with broader HR data and employee lifecycle activity.
• Experience working in a regulated, business-critical, or financial services environment.

Qualifications

• SAP SuccessFactors or SAP Payroll certification is preferred.
• Certified Payroll Technician (CPT) or Certified Payroll Practitioner (CPP) is advantageous.
• ITIL, DevOps, or Scaled Agile certification is advantageous.
