Job summary

Yokogawa Australia is seeking a Sales Support Engineer to join the Products Sales team in Macquarie Park, NSW. The role supports customers by applying technical knowledge to select instrumentation solutions, prepare quotations, and manage commercial activities.

Office-based, with opportunities for permanent placement for high-performing individuals. The role emphasizes collaboration with suppliers, manufacturing partners, and the sales/marketing team to achieve business objectives in Australia

Qualifications

• Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation product families (Pressure, Temperature, Flow, Level, analysers).
• Previous sales-support experience handling orders and quotations.
• Ability to collaborate with third-party partners and manufacturers.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Technically savvy, proactive with strong planning and organisation.

Responsibilities

• Select Yokogawa and partner instrumentation products per enquiries, specs and datasheets.
• Prepare quotations, tender submissions, project proposals and follow up to maximise sales.
• Review customer specs and identify suitable technical solutions.
• Process customer orders, POs and vendor data requirements.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to deliver solutions.
• Provide prompt, professional customer support including order status updates.
• Maintain accurate CRM records of interactions and opportunities.

We are seeking a technically minded Sales Support Engineer to join our Products Sales team, based in Macquarie Park, NSW (Other locations may be considered for the right candidate). This is an office-based sales support role, ideally suited to someone who enjoys applying their technical knowledge to support customers, prepare quotations, select instrumentation solutions, and manage commercial sales activities.

The successful candidate will possess Industry and technical knowledge coupled with a proactive nature and enjoy working in a team environment. This provides a clear opportunity to build upon this contract and to take a permanent role with the leading Automation company.

About The Role

As a Sales Support Engineer, you will provide technical application knowledge and support the selection of instrumentation solutions to meet customer requirements. Key responsibilities include:

• Selecting Yokogawa and partner instrumentation products based on customer enquiries, specifications, and datasheets.
• Preparing quotations, tender submissions, project proposals, and providing ongoing follow-up to maximise sales opportunities.
• Reviewing customer specifications and identifying suitable technical solutions.
• Processing customer orders, purchase orders, and vendor data requirements.
• Coordinating with suppliers and manufacturing partners to deliver customer solutions.
• Providing prompt and professional customer support, including order status updates and account-related enquiries.
• Maintaining accurate records of customer interactions and opportunities within the CRM system.
• Supporting the broader sales and marketing team to achieve business objectives.

About you:

• Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• High level of knowledge and experience in the application of instrumentation product families – Pressure, Temperature, Flow, Level, liquid and gas analysers.
• Previous experience in a sales environment, assisting customers with orders and generating quotations.
• Ability to deal with third-party partners and manufacturers.
• Able to consistently exceed internal and external customer expectations and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and relationship building
• Be tech savvy, self-starter with excellent planning and organisational skills
