Job summary

A global leader in industrial automation is seeking a Senior SCADA Engineer based in Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end SCADA management, coordinating service activities, and guiding clients through technical issues. Candidates need a qualification in relevant engineering fields and at least 5 years of SCADA control experience. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in SCADA control systems.
  • Experience/understanding of DCS/PLC system design, integration, and testing.
  • CI Server/Fast tools experience is advantageous.
  • Experience with Foundation Fieldbus, DNP3 and MQTT protocols.
  • Experience/understanding of DCS/PLC system design, integration, and testing are highly regarded.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

SCADA Engineer - Senior, Lead or Specialist

Yokogawa have an expanding SCADA project portfolio, and are seeking applications from skilled SCADA Engineers either as a Specialist Engineer, or the Senior to Lead Engineer based in our Melbourne Office. We want dynamic people who know SCADA, and who can navigate across an organisation, wishing to develop their career to the next level. This role is open to people in Melbourne or those wishing to relocate to Melbourne for a long term career with Yokogawa.

What you’ll do:
  • End-to-end SCADA management - from system design and configuration to testing, commissioning, and ongoing support for Yokogawa SCADA systems, ensuring high-quality results aligned with project scopes, schedules, and standards.
  • Coordinate service activities alongside the Service Manager to guarantee all work is performed safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
  • Provide guidance and solutions to clients, addressing technical issues and managing communications.
  • Drive problem-solving and decision-making, proactively identifying project risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with client design standards, industry regulations, and Yokogawa’s commitment to engineering excellence.
  • Mentor graduate and junior engineers, contributing to their development.
  • Participate in on-call rosters and attend client sites as needed.
What you’ll bring:
  • Qualification in chemical engineering, instrumentation, mechatronics, electrical, or equivalent with some IT experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in SCADA control systems. CI Server/Fast tools experience is advantageous.
  • Experience with Foundation Fieldbus, DNP3 and MQTT protocols.
  • Experience/understanding of DCS/PLC system design, integration, and testing are highly regarded.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and commercial acumen.
