Job description

We're seeking an experienced and commercially driven Sales Manager to lead sales performance, customer engagement and business growth across Victoria.

Reporting to the General Manager VIC & SA, this role is responsible for delivering Victorian revenue and profitability, leading two Victorian Business Development Managers, and managing the Bid Manager, Bid Coordinator and Sales Administrator. The bid and administration team operates as a shared service supporting both Victoria and South Australia, and this role is accountable for ensuring that support is consistent, timely and effective.

This is a highly visible leadership role covering the full Victorian sales lifecycle - from market development and opportunity identification through tender submission, project handover and ongoing customer relationship management. You'll work closely with the State Manager South Australia to coordinate shared-service priorities, and with Design & Estimating, Commercial, Construction and Operations to support strong customer and project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Victorian sales team and shared bid/administration support team.
  • Deliver annual Victorian revenue, gross margin, pipeline and market-growth targets.
  • Develop and execute the Victorian sales strategy and customer-engagement plan.
  • Build trusted relationships with key Victorian clients, consultants and stakeholders.
  • Lead customer engagement throughout the sales process and maintain executive-level relationships following project award.
  • Oversee Victorian forecasting, pipeline management, CRM discipline and revenue reporting.
  • Manage sales budgets and departmental expenditure.
  • Analyse market conditions, competitor activity and industry trends to identify growth opportunities.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of high-quality tenders and proposals.
  • Ensure the Bid Manager, Bid Coordinator and Sales Administrator provide consistent support to both Victoria and South Australia.
  • Agree workload priorities and service requirements with the State Manager South Australia, escalating unresolved capacity conflicts where required.
  • Partner with Design & Estimating, Commercial, Construction and Operations to support successful project outcomes.
  • Coach and develop direct reports and manage clear KPIs and performance expectations.
  • Promote a collaborative, customer-focused and high-performance culture.
  • Support pricing strategy, commercial negotiations and contract discussions for Victorian opportunities.
  • Resolve escalated Victorian customer issues and maintain high standards of customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with WHSEQ requirements and company standards.
About You
  • Proven experience in a Sales Manager, State Sales Manager, Business Development Manager or comparable leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and delivering revenue and margin growth.
  • Experience in construction, modular construction, building products, property, housing or a related sector will be highly regarded.
  • Strong understanding of tenders, bids, contracts and complex sales cycles.
  • Commercially astute, with strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Proven capability in sales strategy, forecasting, pipeline management and CRM discipline.
  • Experience leading shared-service or central support teams across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Strong coaching, prioritisation, communication and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to travel within Victoria and to South Australia as required.
Why Fleetwood?
  • Join a national ASX-listed organisation with more than 60 years of industry experience.
  • Play a key leadership role driving growth across Victoria and South Australia.
  • Lead a talented team and influence strategic business direction.
  • Opportunity to make a genuine impact on business performance and market expansion.
  • Ongoing learning and professional development opportunities.
  • Paid parental leave for primary carers and partners.
  • Access to employee discounts, recognition programs and wellbeing initiatives, including onsite physiotherapy services at selected locations.
  • Flexible salary packaging options including novated leasing and additional superannuation contributions.
  • Be part of an organisation committed to Collaboration, Integrity, Accountability, Safe Together and Innovation.
