Job summary

Fleetwood Australia is seeking a Senior Estimator to join the Victorian Design & Estimating team, supporting modular construction across education, health, social housing, defence and government.

You will prepare accurate, commercially sound estimates and tenders, collaborate with Design, Manufacturing and Project Delivery teams, and mentor junior estimators to drive best-practice cost management on high-value projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' estimating experience in construction or modular construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, trades and project delivery.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Review tender docs and prepare quantity take-offs, BOQs and cost estimates.
• Identify risks, opportunities and pricing impacts from design changes.
• Prepare RFQs and scopes of work; source and negotiate subcontractor pricing.
• Collaborate with Design, Sales, Manufacturing and Project Delivery teams.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to clarify requirements.
• Maintain estimating databases, market pricing and cost benchmarks.
• Peer review estimates and mentor Estimators.
• Comply with document control, reporting and quality requirements.

About You

Essential

• Minimum five years' estimating experience in construction, manufacturing, modular construction or a related industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building trades and project delivery.
• Ability to interpret architectural, engineering and tender documentation and complete detailed take-offs and first-principles estimates.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify risks, opportunities and pricing anomalies.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Strong organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Highly Regarded

• Modular, prefabricated or off-site construction experience.
• Experience with CostX and EstimateOne, or similar platforms.
• Exposure to established subcontractor and supplier networks in Victoria.
• Knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant standards.
• Relevant trade, tertiary or industry qualifications.
