Job summary

Mainfreight is advertising an exciting Newcastle opportunity within the Air & Ocean Sales Team. This role focuses on learning the ropes from the ground up, with a structured training plan to develop skills across import/export operations and ocean freight products.

You will assist in proposal prep, work closely with the Imports/Exports team, and learn to identify and qualify new business leads to drive revenue growth for the branch.

Responsibilities

• Participate in structured training to develop sales skills.
• Learn Import and Exports operations and quoting across ocean freight products.
• Assist in preparing new business proposals and presentations with Imports/Exports team.
• Qualify and assign inbound new business leads.
• Learn dynamics of international freight market and create revenue growth for the branch.
• Engage with Air Freight, Perishables, Warehousing, Ports/Wharves, Domestic Transport.
• Attend internal/external sales meetings and training sessions.
• Regular debriefs with Branch Manager.

Learning everything from the ground up.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

• A structured training plan in order to educate and provide you with every opportunity to develop and succeed in the role moving into Sales.
• Learning Import and Exports operations.
• Quoting across all key ocean freight products – imports, exports, and brokerage
• Assistance in preparation of new business proposals and presentations, working closely with our Imports and Exports team and learning the customer service.
• Qualification and assignment of inbound new business leads.
• Learn the complexities of a changing international freight market and be on the front line of finding innovative solutions to gain new business and generate revenue and profit growth for our branch
• Exposure to the wider business including Air Freight, Perishables, Warehousing, Ports and Wharves and Domestic Transport
• Attending internal and external sales meetings and skills training sessions
• Regular de-briefs with the Branch Manager
