Job summary

Linktal Recruitment in Sydney is seeking an Operations Supervisor (Imports) for a hands-on leadership role in a growing freight forwarding team. You will own the Imports function, lead a 5+ operator team, and drive profitability.

This role offers exposure to global trade lanes, close collaboration with the CEO, and potential progression to manager as you prove performance. Mandarin preferred.

Based in Condell Park, the role keeps you connected to AU ports with a family-like culture.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of import operations experience (sea and air) in freight forwarding.
• Mandarin language skills to liaise with overseas agents and clients.
• Previous team lead or supervisory experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of 5+ import operators daily.
• Prepare P&L reporting and ensure profitability.
• Train local and overseas back-office teams.
• Manage end-to-end import shipments via air and sea.
• Own a dedicated portfolio of clients as their key operational contact.
• Coordinate with overseas agents, shipping lines, airlines and service providers.
• Prepare documentation for customs clearance and biosecurity requirements.

In this role, you will

Lead and support a team of 5+ import operators day to day

Do P&L reporting and ensure job profitability

Train the local & overseas back‑office team

Manage end-to-end import shipments across air and sea freight

Own a dedicated portfolio of clients as their key operational contact

Coordinate with overseas agents, shipping lines, airlines, and service providers

Prepare documentation for customs clearance and biosecurity requirements

To be successful, you have

3+ years of import operations (sea & air) experience in freight forwarding

Prior team lead/supervisory experience is an advantage, but not a dealbreaker

Mandarin skills to liaise with overseas agents & clients
