Job summary

Bristol Paint & Decorator Centre Wollongong, part of PPG, is hiring a Sales Assistant to greet customers and help with paint products in a busy Wollongong store. No paint experience is required as full product and systems training is provided, with opportunities to develop your career across PPG's national network.

You'll join a supportive team, handle colour matching, deliveries and customer orders, and work a friendly, hands‑on environment that values teamwork and great service.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail, hospitality or customer service is welcome.
• Willing to learn product knowledge and systems.
• Able to lift paint tins and move stock, with safety in mind.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist customers with friendly, knowledgeable service.

We're looking for a Sales Assistant to join our Bristol Paint & Decorator Centre in Wollongong. You'll be the friendly face customers see when they walk through the door, helping professional painters, contractors and DIY customers get what they need and leave with confidence.

No paint experience? No problem!

If you've worked in retail, hospitality, customer service or another hands‑on environment and genuinely enjoy helping people, we'll teach you everything else.

The setup

• Full-time permanent position (38 hours per week)
• Based at our Wollongong store
• Monday to Friday roster between 6:30am and 4:30pm
• Occasional Saturday shifts (7:00am to 11:30am)
• Full product and systems training provided

How you'll make an impact

Every day looks a little different, but you'll be focused on creating a great experience for every customer who walks through the door.

You'll

• Welcome and assist customers with friendly, knowledgeable service
• Build relationships with local trade and retail customers
• Tint and mix paint products to customer requirements
• Support colour matching and product recommendations
• Prepare and organise customer orders for collection and delivery
• Help keep shelves stocked, displays looking great and the store running smoothly
• Work closely with the Store Manager and team to support sales growth
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised workplace
• Make local deliveries when required using the company vehicle
