Dahlsens Building Centres Pty is hiring a Sales & Installation Technician for security screen products in Cairns. You will advise customers, measure sites, prepare quotes, and professionally install screens in residential and commercial settings. The role requires hands-on trade experience, a White Card, and a valid driver's license.

• Understand customer requirements and provide tailored solutions aligned with the Prowler Proof product range, ensuring advice is delivered professionally and respectfully.
• Provide clear, accurate information on product features, benefits, and pricing while maintaining a high standard of personal presentation and communication.
• Deliver excellence in customer service by cultivating strong relationships with new and existing customers and always representing the company with professionalism.
• Maintain a high level of company, product, and industry knowledge to ensure advice is credible, accurate, and aligned with organisational standards.
• Install security screen products in residential and commercial applications in accordance with the Australian Standards, National Construction Code and company requirements.
• Perform accurate site measurements, adjustments, and product modifications to ensure correct fit, appearance, and functionality.
• Diagnose and resolve installation challenges, product issues, and site-specific constraints using sound technical judgement.
• Adhere to company procedures, installation protocols, and documentation requirements to ensure accuracy, traceability, and compliance.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a Sales & Installation Technician who enjoys working with customers and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship. In this varied role, you'll provide expert advice on Prowler Proof security screen products, prepare solutions to meet customer needs, and carry out professional installations, ensuring a seamless experience from consultation to completion.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

• Understand customer requirements and provide tailored solutions aligned with the Prowler Proof product range, ensuring advice is delivered professionally and respectfully.
• Provide clear, accurate information on product features, benefits, and pricing while maintaining a high standard of personal presentation and communication.
• Deliver excellence in customer service by cultivating strong relationships with new and existing customers and always representing the company with professionalism.
• Maintain a high level of company, product, and industry knowledge to ensure advice is credible, accurate, and aligned with organisational standards.
• Conduct in-home and onsite measures, prepare quotes, and support sales conversion in a manner that reflects company values, ethical practices, and customer focused service.
• Uphold professional conduct by demonstrating reliability, integrity, and positive engagement in all customer interactions.
• Participate in ongoing training, product updates, and professional development to ensure skills, knowledge, and conduct continuously meet company expectations.
• Install security screen products in residential and commercial applications in accordance with the Australian Standards, National Construction Code and company requirements.
• Perform accurate site measurements, adjustments, and product modifications to ensure correct fit, appearance, and functionality.
• Diagnose and resolve installation challenges, product issues, and site-specific constraints using sound technical judgement.
• Conduct repairs, servicing, and warranty work as required, ensuring all work meets quality and compliance expectations.
• Adhere to company procedures, installation protocols, and documentation requirements to ensure accuracy, traceability, and compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Demonstrated experience in a hands-on trade, construction, or building products environment
• Carpentry, glazing, cabinet making, or similar trade experience highly regarded
• Queensland Construction White Card or willingness to obtain
• Open Manual Drivers Licence
• Commitment to and genuine interest in the provision of excellence in customer service.
• Organisational and time management skills with the ability to work to timeframes and prioritise workload.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, effectively managing own workload without continual guidance.
