Job summary

Village Roadshow Limited's Movie World on the Gold Coast seeks a Safety Advisor to support the Safety Manager across our world-class parks. You will oversee safety practices, ensure compliance with our Safety Management Systems, and help deliver memorable experiences in the safest way possible.

The role requires hands-on incident investigations, audits, risk assessments, and close collaboration with diverse teams to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement across attractions.

Qualifications

• Incident investigation, audits & inspections, safety reporting
• Risk assessments & hazard identification
• Stakeholder communication & liaison
• Strong problem solving & organizational skills
• Familiar with safety management systems and ISO standards
• Proficient in MS Office with data entry skills
• Exposure to safety software (ChemWatch or similar) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist or lead incident investigations and report findings
• Participate in audits and inspections and help close out actions
• Maintain safety records including risk assessments and hazard reports in Figtree
• Provide health and safety advice for activities and attractions
• Support emergency plans and ERT exercises for venues

The opportunity

Ready to play a key role in keeping the fun safe? At Village Roadshow Theme Parks, we’re looking for a Safety Advisor to support our Safety Manager across our world-class properties. In this role, you’ll provide oversight, ensure compliance with our Safety Management Systems, and help us deliver unforgettable experiences in the safest way possible.

Key Responsibilities

No two days are the same! You’ll be:

• Assisting departments with or leading incident investigations, preparing reports, and recommending process improvements.
• Participating in audits and inspections, supporting the implementation of corrective actions.
• Maintaining accurate safety records including risk assessments, incident and hazard reports via our Figtree database.
• Providing advice on Health & Safety for new and existing activities and attractions.
• Helping to ensure emergency plans and ERT exercises are compliant and effective.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across Health & Safety.

What We’re Looking For

We’re after someone who’s passionate about safety and thrives in dynamic, high-energy environments. You’ll bring:

• Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety (or willing to obtain).
• Knowledge of AS/NZ 4801, ISO 45001 and risk management systems (Figtree or similar).
• Experience in the theme park industry or another high-volume public venue (highly regarded).
• Strong problem solving, organizational, and time management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Exposure to Chem Watch or similar safety systems (desirable).
