Job summary

MacKellar Group is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to join our Nyngan mine operation on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Brisbane, with accommodation and meals provided. The role focuses on promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislative and company requirements, and coaching frontline leaders.

You will work with site leadership and operations to implement safety initiatives, investigate incidents, and contribute to continuous improvement while maintaining relationships

Qualifications

• Experience in mining or heavy industry.
• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum)
• Knowledge of NSW WHS legislation
• Strong incident investigation and reporting skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• ICAM (or equivalent investigation training) will be highly regarded
• Current First Aid qualifications are advantageous

We're looking for an experienced Safety Advisor to join our team at our Nyngan mine operation on an 8/6 roster. This is a FIFO opportunity from Brisbane, offering a rewarding site-based safety role with an established contractor.

The Opportunity

As a Safety Advisor, you’ll work closely with site leadership and operational teams to promote a strong safety culture and maintain compliance with legislative and company requirements. You’ll provide practical safety advice, coach frontline leaders and support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

About You

You are a proactive safety professional who enjoys building strong relationships and influencing positive safety outcomes. You have experience working in mining or heavy industry and are confident engaging with people at all levels of the business.

You’ll also bring:

• Previous experience in a Safety Advisor or HSE role within mining, civil or heavy industry
• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum)
• Sound understanding of NSW WHS legislation and risk management principles
• Strong incident investigation and reporting skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• ICAM (or equivalent investigation training) will be highly regarded
• Current First Aid qualifications are advantageous
