Job summary

Stellar Recruitment AU and NZ is seeking a Safety Advisor to provide hands-on safety support across a busy mining site in Mackay. The role covers incident investigations, injury management, and reporting, with day-to-day advisory duties in field operations.

Ideal candidates will have around two years of experience in safety on site, strong communication with production and maintenance teams, and familiarity with SharePoint for safety information management.

Qualifications

• Approximately two years' experience in a Safety Advisor or similar site-based role.
• Experience within mining, resources, heavy industry or a comparable operational environment.
• Knowledge of incident investigations and timeline development.
• Experience supporting injury management and return-to-work processes.
• Confidence engaging with production and maintenance teams in the field.

About the role

A leading mining contractor is seeking a capable Safety Advisor to provide immediate coverage across a busy site operation.

This is an initial three-month temporary assignment with the potential to extend. Working closely with production and maintenance teams, you will provide practical safety support across field activities, injury management, investigations and operational reporting.

This is an advisor-level position suited to someone with approximately two years of relevant experience who is comfortable working in the field and engaging directly with operational teams.

About you

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• Approximately two years' experience in a Safety Advisor or similar site-based role
• Previous experience within mining, resources, heavy industry or a comparable operational environment
• Working knowledge of incident investigations and timeline development
• Experience supporting injury management and return-to-work processes
• Confidence engaging with production and maintenance teams in the field
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills
• Good computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems quickly
• Previous experience using SharePoint
• Exposure to BMA and SIS systems would be highly regarded
• Availability to commence within two weeks
