Job summary

Arcare seeks a Roving General Services Manager to lead non-clinical operations across its Victorian residences. You will oversee catering, cleaning, laundry and maintenance to enhance residents’ quality of life while ensuring compliance and high service standards.

The role requires strong leadership, regulatory understanding, and strategic budgeting with a focus on resident wellbeing. This is a full-time, roving opportunity offering training, progression, and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of large teams in aged care or similar environments.
• Deep knowledge of aged care regulations, standards and compliance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Experience managing non-clinical staff in a care setting.

About the Role

The General Services Manager is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing various non-clinical aspects including Catering, Cleaning, Laundry and Maintenance. The role contributes to the overall quality of life and well-being of the resident and supports the smooth operation of the Residence.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Catering and Dining Services: Manage the Catering department via overseeing the provision of meals and dietary services to ensure that residents receive nutritious and balanced meals according to their dietary requirements and preferences.
• Environmental Management: Oversee a team of Cleaners and Laundry Attendants ensuring cleaning and laundry services are hygienic, clean and exceeding resident expectations.
• Maintenance Management: Oversee the Maintenance department ensuring requests are prioritized and repairs meet and exceed resident expectations.
• Service Providers Management: Manage external contractors ensuring legislative and contractual requirements are met.
• Extra Services Management: Ensure extra services meet Arcare's offerings, resident and family expectations and contractual obligations.
• Budget and Resource Management: Developing and managing budgets for your remit, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource allocation.
• Staff Management: Supervising and leading non-clinical staff, ensuring proper training, performance evaluation and staff development.

Skills & Experience

• Ability to manage and lead teams.
• Comprehensive understanding of the aged care industry, including regulations, compliance requirements, best practices, and emerging trends.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing staff in Aged Care or a similar industry.
