Job summary

Arcare is a leading aged care provider with 60+ residences across multiple states. You will join a supportive team dedicated to resident well-being and professional development. This role focuses on compassionate, competent care for residents and a positive work environment for the care team.

You will lead a team of nurses, caregivers and support staff, oversee care planning and medication management, and communicate effectively with families to ensure quality life for residents.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA Registration is required.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in Aged Care as a Registered Nurse.
• Knowledge of Aged Care accreditation standards.
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience with ANNAC.
• Expertise in medication administration and wound care.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in care planning, goal setting and evaluation documentation.
• Capability to lead and manage a team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centered care to residents.
• Lead and supervise a team of healthcare professionals.
• Oversee development and implementation of individual care plans.
• Administer and manage medications per schedules and protocols.
• Communicate with residents' families and guardians about care decisions.

You will play a pivotal role in providing compassionate and competent care to Arcare Residents while maintaining a supportive and positive work environment for the care team. You will be instrumental in ensuring the well-being and quality of life for residents in the facility.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Resident Care: Ensuring the delivery of high-quality and person-centered care to residents, addressing their specific medical, physical, and emotional needs.
• Staff Supervision: Managing and leading a team of healthcare professionals, including nurses, caregivers and support staff.
• Care Planning: Overseeing the development and implementation of individual care plans for each resident, considering their unique health requirements and preferences.
• Medication Management: Ensuring proper administration and management of medications for residents, adhering to prescribed schedules and protocols.
• Family Communication: Communicating effectively with residents' families or legal guardians, providing updates on their loved one's condition and involving them in care decisions when appropriate.
• Crisis Management: Handling emergency situations and critical incidents promptly and effectively.

Skills & Experience

• Current AHPRA Registration.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in Aged Care as a Registered Nurse.
• Knowledge of Aged Care accreditation standards.
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience with ANNAC.
• Expertise in medication administration and wound care with a commitment to ongoing clinical excellence.
