Job summary

Achieve Australia is seeking a roster support lead to oversee real-time roster management, vacancy coordination and workforce allocation in Sydney. You will lead and coach frontline staff, drive rostering efficiency and ensure alignment with funding and service requirements.

To be successful you will have 3+ years’ experience in leading a small team in workforce planning and rostering, strong MS Office and Excel skills, and proven knowledge of rostering systems.

  • Strong rostering/scheduling and time management capabilities.
  • Experience integrating rostering with HR practices.
  • Advanced MS Office and Excel skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop Frontline Roster Design Officers to achieve quality, productivity and workforce optimisation outcomes.
  • Develop capability within the team in NDIS funding model, award interpretation, WHS principles, roster design and workforce optimisation.
  • Develop, implement and govern roster design standards, policies, procedures and QA frameworks.
  • Ensure rosters align with client funding, roster-of-care assumptions, service requirements and staffing models.
  • Partner with Service Managers and operational leaders to review and optimise rosters after funding or service changes.
  • Act as escalation point for complex roster design and funding alignment issues.
  • Conduct regular audits of roster designs to ensure compliance with standards and obligations.
  • Ensure rosters comply with NDIS funding, award conditions and best practice rostering principles.

Role Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach and develop Frontline Roster Design Officers to achieve quality, productivity and workforce optimisation outcomes.
  • Develop capability and expertise within the team in NDIS funding model, award interpretation, work health and safety principles, roster design and workforce optimisation.
  • Develop, implement and govern roster design standards, policies, procedures and quality assurance frameworks.
  • Ensure the team effectively design rosters against client funding, roster-of-care assumptions, service requirements and approved staffing models.
  • Partner with Service Managers, Service Coordinators and operational leaders to review, redesign and optimise rosters following funding changes, participant changes, vacancies, service redesign or operational requirements.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex roster design, funding alignment and workforce optimisation issues.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of roster designs to ensure compliance with organisational standards, funding requirements and industrial obligations.
  • Ensure rosters are designed and maintained in line with relevant frameworks including NDIS funding, award conditions, best practice rostering design principles, other legislation relevant to staff resourcing.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • 3+ years’ experience in leading a small team in a similar role in workforce planning, rostering optimisation, scheduling functions within a complex service environment.
  • Well-developed rostering / scheduling / workforce or resource planning skills and organisational and time management skills including the ability to prioritise a demanding workload; and
  • Demonstrated experience of successfully integrating rostering systems, HR practices and award principles.
  • Well-developed knowledge and application of Workforce Management or Time and Attendance Software systems, reporting capabilities, management of queues and activity routing/overflow, etc.
  • Demonstrated customer focused communication skills incorporating the abilities of courtesy, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
  • Advanced computer literacy e.g. MS Office and Excel.
