Job summary

Achieve Australia is seeking a Roster Support Lead to guide the Roster Support team in maintaining safe, effective staffing levels across services and ensuring real-time roster management, vacancy coordination and roster changes align with funding and service needs. The role focuses on compliance, cost efficiency, and service continuity while supporting participants and staff.

Applicants should have strong rostering, scheduling and HR knowledge and be able to manage a 5am–11pm live roster

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in leading a small team in a similar role.
• Experience with rostering, workforce management or time and attendance systems.
• Well-developed rostering / scheduling / workforce or resource planning skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources practices and industrial award principles.
• Ability to build and maintain trust and confidence of stakeholders through building rapport, consistent performance and delivery of services.
• Demonstrated customer focused communication skills incorporating the abilities of courtesy, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
• Well-developed organisational and time management skills including the ability to prioritise a demanding workload; and
• Advanced computer literacy e.g. MS Office and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop Roster Support Officers to achieve service, quality and productivity outcomes and act as the primary escalation point for complex staffing issues, service risks, workforce shortages and roster exceptions.
• Ensure effective Roster Support Officer staffing to maintain the live roster from 5am to 11pm, including extended weekend coverage.
• Conduct reviews to ensure roster changes are managed consistently and accurately.
• Manage and allocate workloads and monitor team performance.
• Ensure the team allocating shifts to employees in a transparent, fair and consistent manner, without bias and favouritism.
• Assist in developing and maintaining 24-hour rosters in the rostering system to ensure adequate staffing level within NDIS funding parameters.
• Ensure confirmed roster changes are communicated clearly to staff, service leaders and other relevant stakeholders by designing and implementing appropriate processes to facilitate.
• Allocating and backfilling resources within a limited timeframe due to unforeseen or unplanned circumstances.
