Job summary

Inner West Council is seeking a Roads & Stormwater Project Manager/Project Engineer for a temporary up to 24‑month role. You will lead planning and delivery of roads, stormwater and transport assets, coordinating with consultants, contractors and stakeholders to meet safety and budget requirements.

The role requires tertiary qualifications in civil engineering or related fields, plus extensive project management and procurement experience.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering, project management, construction management or other appropriate discipline recognised by relevant Australian professional institute.
• Comprehensive experience in successful project management of infrastructure works with the capacity to support innovative thinking.
• Sound experience in the design and construction of civil infrastructure.
• Highly developed project management, procurement and contract administration skills successfully utilised in delivering infrastructure services.
• Strong interpersonal & communication skills (written & oral) together with proven ability for negotiation and conflict resolution. Ability to engage staff and stakeholders and work collaboratively. Ability to represent Council to external organisations, customers and members of the public.
• Current NSW Class C Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and delivery of a diverse portfolio of civil infrastructure projects, including roads, stormwater and transport assets.
• Manage projects from concept through to completion, ensuring safe, efficient and on‑budget delivery.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors and the community to achieve high‑quality infrastructure outcomes.
