Job summary

Inner West Council is seeking a Student/Graduate Engineer (Road Access) to support management of works in the public domain and protect road, footpath, cycling, and stormwater infrastructure. You will work in the Traffic and Transport Planning team, assisting with permits, designs and traffic management proposals.

Qualifications

• Undertaking a Degree (Bachelor or Post-Graduate) in civil engineering, project management, construction management or other appropriate discipline recognised by relevant Australian professional institute.
• A strong customer service ethic and attention to detail.
• Ability to think strategically with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and meet project deadlines.
• Proficiency in the use of computer programs (spreadsheet, database, graphics, word processing).
• Current NSW Class C Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Support the management of works within the public domain and protect Council's road, footpath, cycling and stormwater infrastructure.
• Assist in the assessment of permits, engineering designs and traffic management proposals.
• Ensure compliance with Council standards, policies and legislative requirements.
• Collaborate with Council teams, contractors, developers and the community to deliver safe, efficient outcomes.
• Contribute to infrastructure management and asset protection across the Council network.
