Job summary

Inner West Council in Sydney’s inner suburbs seeks a Roads & Stormwater Project Manager/Project Engineer for up to 24 months to lead planning and delivery of a diverse civil infrastructure portfolio, including roads and stormwater assets.

You will work with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors and the community to deliver safe, on-budget outcomes, applying your project management skills, technical expertise, and commitment to community outcomes.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering, project management, construction management or other appropriate discipline recognised by relevant Australian professional institute.
• Comprehensive experience in successful project management of infrastructure works with the capacity to support innovative thinking.
• Sound experience in the design and construction of civil infrastructure.
• Highly developed project management, procurement and contract administration skills successfully utilised in delivering infrastructure services.
• Strong interpersonal & communication skills (written & oral) together with proven ability for negotiation and conflict resolution. Ability to engage staff and stakeholders and work collaboratively. Ability to represent Council to external organisations, customers and members of the public.
• Current NSW Class C Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and delivery of a diverse portfolio of civil infrastructure projects, including roads, stormwater and transport assets.
• Manage projects from concept through to completion, ensuring outcomes are delivered safely, efficiently and within budget.
• Apply your technical expertise, project management skills and stakeholder engagement experience to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions that support a sustainable and connected community.
