Job summary

Randwick City Council in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs is seeking a Project Manager for a 24-month maximum term full-time role. You will lead the design to construction delivery across civil and capital works, coordinating with consultants, contractors and council staff.

You will manage community consultation, prepare technical reports and tender packages, and ensure compliance with WHS and purchasing policies. This role offers a stable 24-month tenure with a 9-day fortnight and supportive culture.

Qualifications

• Appropriate tertiary professional qualifications, at degree level, in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Architecture, Project Management or equivalent
• Proven project management skills to meet budgets, timeframes and milestones
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously with appropriate resource allocation
• Well-developed written and oral communication techniques for the public and staff
• Interpersonal, negotiating, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
• Experience in delivery of capital projects
• High level computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office or similar packages

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage the design, planning, approvals, documentation and construction delivery for Civil and Capital Works projects
• Organise community consultation to identify aspirations and needs for council infrastructure
• Prepare accurate technical reports and correspondence for officers, Councillors and the public
• Liaise with consultants and contractors; prepare briefs and consultation plans
• Prepare specifications, contracts, tender packages and evaluations under policy
• Facilitate community consultation for current and future usage and maintenance
• Prepare information for Communications for media releases and public displays
• Exercise delegated powers by the Director City Services
