Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Team Leader / Principal Civil Engineer – Roads & Highways for our Transport Infrastructure team in Perth. This permanent role combines technical depth with people leadership and client-facing delivery to manage major road and highway projects in WA.

You will mentor engineers, drive project delivery, and support business development while maintaining strong technical presence and collaboration with global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Significant experience delivering roads and highways projects in a consulting environment.
• Demonstrated capability in leading teams and mentoring engineers.
• Strong client-facing skills with experience supporting proposals and project delivery.
• Progress toward or achievement of CPEng.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver civil design for roads, highways and transport projects from concept to construction.
• Act as Project Manager and/or Project Technical Leader on complex projects, ensuring quality, budget and program outcomes.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and designers.
• Manage and develop client relationships, including negotiating scope changes and supporting proposals.
• Support business and group leaders with team utilisation, resourcing, performance and growth initiatives.
• Lead and mentor a team of civil engineers and designers across Roads & Highways projects.
• Support business development activities, bids and proposals to secure future work.
