Job summary

Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking a RiverConnect Education & Engagement Officer to join the Sustainability and Environment Team in the Greater Shepparton region. You will work with Council staff, RiverConnect partners, schools, volunteers and community groups to deliver education, engagement, participation and stewardship initiatives that strengthen connection to the river environment.

The role requires strong communication and collaboration skills, with responsibilities including

Qualifications

• Strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills are required.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail.
• Demonstrated experience in environmental education, community engagement or related fields encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Deliver RiverConnect Strategic Plan actions and targets.
• Develop and facilitate environmental education, outdoor learning and participation activities.
• Plan and deliver community events, campaigns, volunteer and stewardship initiatives.
• Build relationships with schools, Traditional Owners, partners and community stakeholders.
• Create engaging resources, social media, website content and newsletters.
