Job summary

Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking a RiverConnect Education & Engagement Officer to support the Sustainability and Environment Team. You will deliver education, engagement and stewardship initiatives that strengthen connection to the river environment.

You will work with RiverConnect partners, schools and community groups to plan events, develop outdoor learning, create resources and build relationships with Traditional Owners and stakeholders. Occasional after-hours work applies.

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental education or related field.
• Ability to engage with schools, volunteers and community groups.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver RiverConnect Strategic Plan actions and targets.
• Develop and facilitate environmental education, outdoor learning and participation activities.
• Plan and deliver community events, campaigns, volunteer and stewardship initiatives.
• Build relationships with schools, Traditional Owners, partners and community stakeholders.
• Create engaging resources, social media, website content and newsletters.
