Job summary

Commonwealth Bank is seeking a seasoned risk & compliance leader for a fast-paced, customer-focused venture in Sydney. You’ll shape and embedding a fit-for-purpose risk framework, automate controls and guide senior stakeholders through regulatory obligations.

With deep banking risk expertise and hands-on delivery, you’ll drive risk culture, manage CAP testing and collaborate with Legal, Compliance and Technology teams to ensure compliant growth and robust controls.

Qualifications

• Deep obligations, compliance and risk management experience.
• End-to-end risk experience in banking and payments is preferred.
• Strong regulatory expertise and control design experience.
• Experience in automation of controls and collaboration with risk and technology teams.
• Hands-on, fast-paced delivery with a customer-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Develop and embed a fit-for-purpose compliance and risk framework.
• Proactively manage obligations and risks within risk appetite.
• Work with Risk teams to ensure compliance through business development and change.
• Develop technology to support automated compliance by design.
• Provide compliance guidance in day-to-day operations.
• Lead root cause analyses of issues and drive control improvements.
