Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking an Operations Manager for a retail asset. The role is on-site, part-time (three days per week), focusing on risk, compliance, and smooth daily operations.

You’ll manage budgets, lead maintenance programs, and nurture retailer and contractor relationships. You will coordinate safety, procurement, and maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to relevant standards and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, building, business, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in facilities management, property management, hospitality, or related discipline.
• Retail property assets experience and understanding of retail operational dynamics.
• Strong knowledge of OH&S requirements and safety programs.
• Contractor management experience across multiple vendors and contracts.
• Experience managing operational budgets and achieving financial targets.
• Familiarity with technical building systems (CRAC, chiller, fire protection, M&E, BMS).
• Ability to interpret and manage commercial contracts and ensure client interests.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk and compliance programs, including audits and incident reporting across the asset.
• Manage contractor performance and vendor relationships to ensure safe methods and timely delivery within budget.
• Oversee procurement processes and maximize value across engagements.
• Monitor budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities to meet financial targets.
• Serve as the on-site point of contact for retailers and facilities matters.
• Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance programs to maximise asset reliability.
• Ensure compliance with Building Code of Australia, Australian Standards, and OH&S laws.
• Prepare monthly reports on incidents, budget status, capex tracking, and contract expiry.
