Job summary

bp in Melbourne seeks a Retail People Relations Advisor to support its Australian and New Zealand retail network, in a twelve-month fixed-term role based in the Docklands office with hybrid working flexibility.

The role covers absence management, performance issues, disciplinary matters, and investigations, building trusted relationships with leaders while ensuring compliance with bp policies and local employment laws.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications (desirable).
• Experience in frontline P&C support in a large, preferably unionised organisation (desirable).
• Working understanding of Fair Work Act (AU) and/or Employment Relations Act (NZ) (desirable).
• Experience navigating Salesforce CRM.
• Demonstrates a strong risk mindset, with the ability to navigate legal, wellbeing and reputational considerations.
• Ability to represent bp professionally in external conciliation/mediation.
• Experience leading multiple disciplinary processes and handling PR issues.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Team-focused – delivering clear and timely support.

Responsibilities

• Managing and advising on a range of PR cases - grievances, disciplinaries, bullying, harassment, whistleblowing and more.
• Leading investigations that are thorough, balanced, impartial and evidence-based.
• Building strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across Australia and New Zealand.
• Proactively identifying opportunities to enhance processes and build line leader capability.
• Drafting high-quality PR documentation such as invite letters, outcome letters, and investigation reports.
• Supporting store, business and market managers through change initiatives.
• Staying up to date with internal policies and external legislation to ensure high-quality advice.
