The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, stock, customer service, sales performance and operational standards while ensuring the store operates efficiently and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the supermarket and ensure efficient store performance.
• Recruit, train, supervise and coordinate retail staff, including preparation of staff rosters.
• Monitor stock levels, arrange purchasing and replenishment, and liaise with suppliers.
• Maintain appropriate product displays, pricing, promotions and merchandising standards.
• Monitor sales performance, operating costs and store budgets and assist with financial reporting.
• Ensure high standards of customer service and promptly address customer enquiries and complaints.
• Implement procedures relating to cash handling, stock control and loss prevention.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, food safety and other applicable store procedures.
• Analyse sales and inventory information to identify opportunities to improve store performance.
• Coordinate promotional activities and implement strategies to increase sales and customer engagement.

Skills and Experience

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in retail management or a closely related supervisory/management role.
• Relevant qualification in business, retail management, management or a related field is desirable.
• Strong staff management and leadership skills.
• Good understanding of stock control, merchandising and supermarket/retail operations.
• Strong communication, organisational and customer-service skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy retail environment.
