Job summary

Tableland Hardware in Atherton, part of the Dahlsens Family Group, is seeking a friendly Casual Retail Assistant to help trade and retail customers with product advice and sales support. You will assist in-store and by phone, ensuring a welcoming experience during busy rosters, including Saturday shifts.

The role emphasizes customer service, practical product knowledge, and teamwork with yard and sales colleagues in a busy hardware environment.

Qualifications

• Friendly, helpful attitude and clear communication are essential.
• Reliability and willingness to assist across the store are valued.
• Retail, hardware or trade experience is helpful but not required.
• Willingness to learn and safely lift/handle goods is important.
• LF forklift licence is an advantage.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable Casual Retail Assistant to join Tableland Hardware in Atherton. You’ll help trade and retail customers find the right products, advice and support while making every visit easy and welcoming.

Our store is open 6 days per week, you’ll need to be available for rostered Saturday shifts.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

In this hands‑on role, you’ll:

• Welcome and assist customers in store and over the phone
• Provide practical product advice
• Process sales, orders and payments
• Keep the counter area clean, organised and safe
• Work with the yard and sales teams to deliver great service

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• A willingness to learn and the ability to safely lift and handle goods
• A current LF forklift licence is an advantage
