Job summary

Cowan Restoration Group in NSW is seeking a motivated Restoration Technician to join our NSW team. This hands-on role covers water damage, mould, fire and contents restoration across insured properties.

You will assess damage, set up and monitor drying equipment, perform remediation, and document readings while communicating professionally with customers, insurers and stakeholders. Previous restoration experience is welcomed, with related trades considered.

Responsibilities

• Attend restoration projects for water damage, mould, fire and smoke.

• Undertake remediation, cleaning and restoration works.
• Assist with contents restoration, inventories and pack-outs.
• Take photographs and complete accurate job notes using digital systems.
• Communicate professionally with customers, insurers and stakeholders.
• Maintain company vehicle, equipment and stock.
• Follow WHS procedures and industry standards.
• Participate in emergency and after-hours response when required.

About the opportunity

Cowan Restoration Group is looking for a motivated Restoration Technician to join our NSW team.

This is a hands-on role working across a wide range of insurance restoration and remediation projects, including water damage, mould, fire and smoke, contents restoration and specialist cleaning.

No two days are exactly the same. You'll be attending homes and commercial properties, assessing damage, setting up and monitoring drying equipment, carrying out remediation works and helping customers get their properties back to normal after an unexpected event.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well with customers and can work both independently and as part of a team.

Previous restoration experience is highly regarded, but we're also interested in hearing from people with relevant trade, cleaning, construction or property-services experience who are keen to build a career in the restoration industry.

What you’ll be doing

• Attend water damage, mould, fire, smoke and other restoration projects

• Carry out moisture inspections, moisture mapping and monitoring

• Set up, monitor and remove professional drying and restoration equipment

• Record moisture, psychrometric and equipment readings

• Undertake remediation, cleaning and restoration works

• Assist with contents restoration, inventories and pack-outs

• Take clear photographs and complete accurate job notes and reports using our digital systems

• Communicate professionally with customers, insurers, assessors and other stakeholders

• Maintain your company vehicle, equipment and stock

• Work safely and in accordance with our WHS procedures and industry standards

• Participate in emergency and after-hours response where required

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally have:

• A current Australian driver's licence

• Construction White Card

• Good communication and customer service skills

• Strong attention to detail

• Confidence using mobile apps and digital job-management systems

• The ability to work independently and manage your day effectively

• A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to get involved

• The physical capacity to safely undertake the requirements of restoration work

• A reliable and professional attitude

Previous experience in restoration, remediation, construction, cleaning, insurance repairs, property services or a similar field will be highly regarded.

IICRC qualifications including WRT, ASD, AMRT or FSRT are a major advantage, as are First Aid, EWP, Working at Heights and Confined Space qualifications.
